Bald Mountain State Recreation Area/Shooting Range is a 4,637-acre recreation area that has several picnic areas, a modern accessible shooting range, large hunting areas, several fishing lakes, two trout streams, a sandy swimming beach and 15 miles of marked hiking and biking trails. It is immensely popular for its eight miles of groomed cross-country skiing trails and snowmobiling, sledding and ice fishing. Even your dog will love it here with the Orion Oaks Dog Park, a 24-acre fenced enclosure with a small dog area, including two trails, picnic shelter, drinking water, field area, modern restrooms; and access to Lake Sixteen for swimming (dogs only). The Polly Ann Trail is a 14.2-mile-long, non-motorized trail connecting the communities of Orion Township, Oxford Township, the Village of Oxford, Addison Township and the Village of Leonard. This popular linear park utilizes the abandoned P.O. & N. railroad corridor and traverses through some of the most beautiful and untouched landscape in northern Oakland County.
